Towing Reference Charts

Dense, citable tables: tongue weight percentages, pin weight bands, hitch classes, ball and coupler matching, spring bar ratings, tire load ranges and load index, inflation, wiring pinouts and lug torque.

Every page is researched from published standards, manufacturer towing guides and product specifications, and the consensus of verified owner reviews, not hands-on testing. Published figures and towing convention are labelled separately wherever both appear. Every table on this site is plain HTML you can quote, and every calculator shows its formula on the page.

Equal-i-zer 4-point Sway Control Hitch, 10,000 lb

$552.69 Published ratings

Four points of friction sway control built into the hitch itself rather than bolted on beside it, so there is no separate sway bar to disconnect before a tight turn or a wet ramp. The sway control works in both directions from the moment the bars are seated.

Check before buying: The four point design is audible. A rhythmic creak on slow tight turns is normal for this hitch and not a fault, but people who have not been warned about it return them.

Best for: A single or tandem axle travel trailer up to 10,000 lb where you want one part doing both jobs.
